Nov 25th - 27th, 2013

We visited my cousin Rob & Peg overnight  in Vancouver, Washington, then did some shopping up the highway and stayed overnight just before the border. We arrived home safely today.

Ely - Nevada

We were stuck in Ely Nevada for 3 days due to a snowstorm. First day was the storm, second day many accidents, third day high winds. We have now escaped and are in Idaho. Here is a photo of our trailer in Ely.

The saving grace was that we stopped at a small casino with a very friendly staff and small RV park, which was attached to the casino and hotel which had a nice pool and hot tub. Nice restaurant as well.

Valley of Fire

We spent 4 nights at the Valley of Fire, exploring trails and seeing the sights. What a gorgeous place.

Lake Mead National Park

Our destination for today was The Valley of Fire but our route went through Lake Mead National Park and we liked the look of it so we spent the night.

Tuscon & Mesa - Arizona

While in Tuscon I visited a great nursery with the Voyager RV Park Photography Club.

Then in Mesa we ventured out with  the Val Vista RV Park Outdoor Club.

Lubbock, Texas and Roswell, New Mexico

Travelling South West we passed through Amarillo Texas where if you are hungry enough you can get a 72 oz. steak with all the trimmings for free. Only catch is you have to eat it all yourself in 1 hour. Needless to say we did not try.

Next we visited Lubbock, Texas and the birthplace of Buddy Holly. We visited the museum there.

Next we visited Roswell, New Mexico the home of all things extra-terrestrial.

Peabody Hotel Duck March . These ducks live in a lobby pond by day and on the roof at night. They go back and forth down the red carpet  and then up the elevator.
