July 22nd - July 25th Valdez Alaska

Travelling the highways in the Yukon and Alaska it is quite common to see road side banks covered with these graffeti rock markings.
Worthington Glacier on the way into Valdez
 Again fishing is very popular.
 The gulls enjoy the remains
 Valdez small boat harbour
Our tour boat for the day the "Lu-Lu-Belle"
 Nice waterfall
 Commercial fishing boat
Seals (not too popular with the captain)
We did not see any icebergs in Newfoundland but we sure did in Alaska
 Distant view of one glacier
 Overview of the Columbia Glacier
 Closer
 And Closer
 And Closer

Oil tanks in Valdez - the end of the pipeline and waiting for the tanker ships.
We went out to the outer side of the bay where there is a fish hatchery, where at the time we we there, there was supposed to be a good chance of seeing Bears and Eagles but they were no show.
 Lots of Pink Salmon
The Seals and Gulls liked them too.

  1. Doug,

We didn't make it to Valdez or Haines on our 2012 trip. Your blog and pictures have me thinking of another trip.
